Belmont Day School
February 16, 2022

Congratulations to Brendan Largay, Belmont Day’s head of school, for his recent election to serve as secretary of the board of the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE). Brendan has served on the AISNE board since 2018 and as secretary will join the board’s executive committee. Also in his service with AISNE, Brendan is the chair of the AISNE board’s trusteeship committee.

“I’m honored to join the executive committee at this crucial time for independent schools across the region,” Brendan said. “AISNE is a vital organization and resource for schools such Belmont Day School as we emerge from the immense challenges of these past two years and look to harness the lessons we’ve learned and the new strengths we’ve gained. I look forward to working with Claire Leheny, the executive director of AISNE, and the rest of our colleagues in school leadership to help chart the course for the success of independent schools through the years ahead.”

Brendan joined BDS as head of school in 2016. Prior to joining the Belmont Day community, he was head of middle school at The Meadowbrook School (Weston, MA). Brendan has also served as a trustee of the Elementary School Heads Association (ESHA) since 2019.
