Summer fun for your whole family!
The Belmont Day Swim & Tennis Association (STA) provides families and individuals with access to the swimming pool, tennis courts, fields, and play structure outside of camp hours.
Membership is open to school and summer camp families, faculty and staff, alumni, neighbors, and to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach maximum capacity. Contact [email protected] for more information.
Membership Fees 2025
Family Membership – $800
- Membership includes a family of four + ten guest punches (maximum two guests at a time)
- Membership is for immediate family members only
- An extra named member after a family of four is $150
- There is no charge for children under six months old
Individual Adult Membership – $260 per person
Individual memberships are intended for adults. Purchasing an individual adult membership also grants access to the pool during our adults-only swim from 10-11 a.m. on weekends.
Guest Pass – $50
Guest passes offer an opportunity to bring a guest to the pool. Each guest pass has ten punches. Members can bring up to two guests at a time. To bring more than two guests at a time, please contact us at [email protected]. Every family membership comes with one guest pass card.
Hours of Operation
On weekends, there are two lifeguard breaks from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and 5 to 5:45 p.m. The pool is closed at these times.
June to August 1 hours
- Monday to Friday: 4:15 to 8:15 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 11 a.m.: Adult members only
- Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (The pool is closed from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and 5 to 5:45 p.m. for lifeguard breaks.)
Post August 1 through End of Camp (third full week in August)*
- Monday to Friday: 4:15 to 7:30 p.m.*
- Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 11 a.m.: Adult members only
- Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (The pool is closed from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and 5 to 5:45 p.m. for lifeguard breaks.)
*In early August, sunset begins to occur before 8 p.m. Because our pool is not lit, we adjust the pool hours accordingly.
End of Camp Season through Labor Day
- Daily: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (The pool is closed from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and 5 to 5:45 p.m. for lifeguard breaks.)
During our last week of operation, when summer camp is over, the weekend schedule will be in place every day.
Important Information Regarding Inclement Weather
The pool will be closed:
- When a National Weather Service Storm Watch or Warning is in effect for the area.
- When thunder can be heard, or lightning can be seen, or a steady rain is falling.
The pool will reopen within 30 minutes after weather conditions return to normal.
If we decide to close the pool for any reason, we will send out an email communication to families. On nights when the pool is empty at 7:45 p.m., guards may decide to close up the pool early.
Registration
If you have a camp-aged child (who is not attending summer camp), please complete the application on their behalf. We will follow up with you to get information about your other named members. If you do not have a camp-aged child, or your child is already enrolled in our camp programs, please complete the application as yourself and select 12+ in the grade field.
Policies
To ensure that all of our members can enjoy our facilities we ask that you understand and adhere to the following policies. Additionally, all members and their guests using the the pool do so at their own risk. Belmont Day and its personnel are not responsible for accident, injury, or loss or damage of personal property.
General policies for members and guests
- Members must check in upon arrival at the pool with the lifeguard on duty.
- The speed limit on our driveway and Day School Lane is 10 m.p.h. Please use our driveway located at roughly 690 Concord Avenue rather than coming up Day School Lane. Our campus is now one way.
- Belmont Day prohibits smoking, the use of alcoholic beverages, and dogs on all school grounds.
- Picnics on the grounds are encouraged, but members and guests are responsible for discarding all refuse. Please use a carry-in, carry-out procedure when possible. We have limited facilities support on the weekends; over-filled trash cans can lead to pest problems.
- Food and drink are not permitted inside the fenced area around the pool.
- Audio devices may only be used with earphones or played at low volume. Earphones may not be worn in the pool area.
- Members and guests under 16 years old must be accompanied at all times by a parent/guardian or nanny/babysitter.
Failure to follow these policies can result in a revocation of membership without a refund.
Our two pools are a wonderful way to cool off and enjoy the summer. We invite you to take a dip and beat the summer heat. To ensure everyone’s safety in the pools, we have the following policies regarding pool use.
Policies
- Please close the gates when entering or leaving the pool. These gates are legally required to be locked at all times when guests are not actively entering or exiting the pool area.
- Children under the age of fifteen must pass the Basic Swim Test and have their names entered on the lifeguard’s list of qualified swimmers in order to use the deep end of the pool. Children under the age of fifteen who have not passed the Basic Swim Test must be accompanied by an adult in any part of the fenced-in pool enclosure, including the practice pool.
- Inside the pool fence area, there is absolutely no:
- running, pushing, or wrestling
- smoking
- throwing objects into the pool
- eating, drinking, or gum-chewing
- climbing on the lifeguard’s chair
- Playing “catch” with safe objects in the pool is permitted at the lifeguard’s discretion. Members must always check with the lifeguard before beginning a game. The lifeguard reserves the right to temporarily confiscate any object being used unsafely in the pool.
- Small inflatable flotation devices are permitted in the practice pool but prohibited in the main pool.
- If the pool is too crowded to maintain safe conditions, the lifeguard may rotate swimmers.
- Only STA staff are permitted in the pool house.
- No one with an open wound, head cold, inflamed eyes, cough, or congestion may use the pool. All bandages must be removed before a swimmer enters the pool.
- Do not use the pool if you have had diarrhea in the previous 48 hours.
Diapers, swim diapers, and pull-ups are not allowed in the pool. This is a standard required for pool licensing per the Massachusetts Department of Health and is non-negotiable. - Follow all posted rules and guidelines. Failure to follow these rules may result in revocation of membership without refund.
- When a member brings a guest, they must:
- introduce the guest to the lifeguard
- punch your guest card
- ensure that the guest complies with STA rules
- be present at the pool for the entire duration of the guest’s visit
Basic Swim Test
- Jump into the deep end of the pool
- Level off
- Using a recognizable front crawl stroke, swim to the middle of the pool
- Back float for 20 seconds
- Using the front crawl, swim to the shallow end of the pool
Practice Pool
The practice pool is intended for children under six and those who cannot swim. An adult must accompany children in the practice pool area at all times.
