2025 Specialty Camps

Pre-Camp: June 16 to June 20*

Due to the 2024-25 school calendar, we are only able to offer one pre-camp program in 2025.

Summer SportsGrades 1 to 7Summer Sports offers general sports experiences to meet the needs of campers who are multi-sport athletes. Many children are still discovering where their sports interests and expertise lie, so this varied program will give campers the opportunity to progress their skills in multiple sports and have choices during the camp day. We will play traditional sports like soccer, basketball, and tennis with other fun activities and games to keep things fresh. There will be something for every athlete, from aspiring basketball stars to capture-the-flag aficionados. Campers will get a free swim period each day.$652

Session A1: June 23 to 27

Program Grades Description Cost
STEM: Coding for Campers Grades 1 and 2 Coding promotes computational thinking and problem-solving skills, self-expression, and collaboration.  Using educational coding programs like Scratch and TinkerCad, campers will learn key coding fundamentals to create interactive stories, animations, and games. They will learn to think critically, systematically, and cooperatively and complete “Mystery Bag” engineering challenges. Campers will spend time outdoors and at the pool for free swim and swim lessons. Each week of this two-week camp contains different content. Campers may attend one or both weeks. $840
Create and Calculate Grades 2 and 3 BDS third grade teacher Leigh Twarog will guide campers in an exploration of the amazing intersection of math and art. Art projects and activities will uncover the ways we find math in our everyday lives. Along the way, there will be time for games, special events, exploring the trails around BDS, and daily swim lessons and free swim. $840
Cartooning Grades 4 to 7 In this hybrid program, campers will spend the morning with professional cartoonist Jonathan Todd, learning to draw and develop the skills to create a graphic novel. After lunch, campers will participate in Pioneer electives and free swim. Swim lessons are not available. $840

Session A2: June 30 to July 3*

Session B: July 7 to 18

Hands-on activities will connect numbers and concepts campers are familiar with to the natural world. We will create number-themed art projects, explore the habitats on and around our campus, and play games. Campers will have a free swim and rest time each day.$1,680
LEGO Robotics Level 1Grades 2 to 4Campers will build and program  LEGO robots using the LEGO WeDo and LEGO Spike robotics systems. They will also participate in other engineering challenges to test their building skills. This is the first level of our LEGO Robotics camp, appropriate for all experience levels. Campers will also participate in a swim lesson and free swim period daily.$1,680
STEM: Nature InvestigationsGrades 3 to 5Along with naturalist Kim Russel, campers will explore the habitats surrounding Belmont Day and the plants, animals, invertebrates, and fungi in New England forests, fields, and wetlands, as well as the niches they fill in their respective ecosystems. Activities, explorations, crafts, and experiments will illuminate how the natural world functions and what humans can do to protect and steward the remaining wild spaces. Mystery visitors will teach campers more about the natural world around us. Each day includes a free swim period and swim lessons.$1,680

Session C: July 21 to August 1

LEGO Robotics Level 2Grades 3 to 5This LEGO Robotics camp focuses on the LEGO EV-3 Mindstorms and the more advanced features of the LEGO Spike kits used in Level 1. This program is appropriate for those who have completed LEGO Robotics Level 1 or have experience with LEGO programming software. Campers will also participate daily in a swim lesson and free swim period.$1,680
Cooking Around the WorldGrades 5 to 8

Belmont Day Spanish teacher Ana Maria Restrepo will guide campers in cooking projects from many global cultures. Each day will include a mix of cooking projects and group activities. After lunch, campers may participate in Pioneer electives and free swim. Swim lessons are not available.

*This is a one-week program from July 28 to August 1.

Post Camp: August 18 to 22

Namaste, Nature, and CreativityGrades 1 to 4The days will begin with yoga games and asana practice. Campers will take walks in the woods, learn yoga chants, and explore the philosophy and history of yoga in a team-focused way. They will create art inspired by the movement, breathing, and guided resting journey of yoga practice. A free swim period is included every day. A personalized portfolio of each child’s artwork will be sent home for your family gallery. On the last day, we will have a showcase for parents to see the artwork and what campers have learned.$840

Additional Information

Please note: All of our programs close for registration at noon on the Thursday before the session start date, unless the program is already at capacity. Enrollment after this time may be available, but is at the director’s discretion and may incur an additional late enrollment fee.

Extended Day Camp Sessions A1 through D and Specialty Camps

Morning Extended Day – Drop-off as early as 7:45 a.m.

$150 per two-week session or $75 per week – pro-rated for Session A2 (camp is closed for Independence Day)

Afternoon Extended Day – Pick-up as late as 5:30 p.m.

$350 per two-week session – pro-rated for Session A2 (camp is closed for Independence Day) and D (no extended day on Friday, August 18)

Extended Day Pre-Camp and Post-Camp

Morning extended day is not available during pre-camp and post-camp weeks.

Afternoon Extended Day – Pick-up as late as 5:30 p.m.: $35 daily

Payment Terms for Specialty and Sports Camps

  • Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment. Participants will not be registered and have their space guaranteed until payment, in full, is made.
  • Refunds will only be given in the following situations:
    • Medical or family emergency that was unforeseen
    • If cancellation is made at least one month prior to the program’s start date, less a $50 per-week deposit.
