Sixth graders have been learning all about the art of improv in their theater arts intensive. In this activity entitled “Family Portrait,” each group came up one at a time and was given a title for a picture that revolves around a type of family.

Learning Updates for Week of May 31 to June 4

Seventh Graders Research and Educate on Climate Change

In seven grade science, students have been learning about climate change and the greenhouse effect through a variety of different lenses, including evaluating climate data, conducting research, performing simulations, and doing interviews. Students were tasked with using what they learned about climate change in order to educate an audience of their choice about the science behind the greenhouse effect.

Fifth Graders Write, Perform Two-Voice Poems

In humanities class, students are finishing up the novel Esperanza Rising by Pam Muñoz Ryan. As one of their projects for this novel, students had to write a two-voice poem. A two-voice poem is a poem that is written from two different points of view on the same topic.
