Belmont Cradles to Crayons Donation Drive, March 9 to April 5

March 9, 2020

Belmont Day School is honored to once again serve as the collection point for the Belmont town-wide Cradles to Crayons clothing drive. The donation drive runs is underway now and will culminate with a sorting event on Sunday, April 5. Members of the Belmont community and beyond are invited to clean out their drawers and closets and donate gently used children’s items to Cradles to Crayons. Donations can be dropped off in the well-marked collection pod on the Belmont Day campus any time until April 5.

Cradles to Crayons collects and distributes clothing, school supplies, toys, and other essentials to children in need throughout the state. As you do your spring cleaning, we hope you will set aside items that your children can no longer use and bring them to the pod, in the upper parking lot next to the Barn.

Items most in need include:

  • clothing (up to an adult Medium)
  • shoes (up to an adult 11)
  • children’s books (for ages 0-12)
  • socks and underwear (new)
  • hygiene items (new)

The drive culminates in a two-hour sorting event on Sunday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Barn. Click here to register for the event. Teens who need community service hours can receive credit for helping at this event. This event is open to adults and children of all ages. If you have any questions, please contact Kristen Lewis, Pam Cuming or Elizabeth LaFarge
