Three Thoughts:

My Capstone topic would be … a comparison of the principles of dharma in Hinduism to Cicero’s explanations of utilitas (expedient action) and honestas (just action). The connection here is both emphasize that for one to have expedient action, one must act justly or honestly in accordance with socio-religious norms.

My favorite children’s book is … Redwall, by Brian Jacques.

If I could invite any three people (living or deceased) to dinner, I would invite … the first triumvirate, Julius Caesar, Gnaeus Pompey, and Marcus Crassus.

And One More …  I decided to become a teacher because … I want to share my love of history and classics with future generations. Through those disciplines, I can explore with students past civilizations, different systems of government, and our common affection that we call humanity. I can prepare them with the necessary critical thinking skills everyone needs to be successful, and I can make this world a bit kinder and more inclusive.
