Three Thoughts:

If I could give a child one quality, it would be … empathy.

One piece of advice I would give a graduate student beginning our associate teacher program is … to be patient with yourself. No matter how long you’ve been teaching, you still aren’t convinced you know what you’re doing all the time! We are all still learning through successes and challenges.

If I could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive), I would invite … my grandparents to hear about their experiences during World War II (with an interpreter because we never spoke the same language), Stevie Nicks, and my son.
